AMC College Library

Project Overview

The underlying concept behind the AMC Library was to create a space for the students equipped with today’s and tomorrow’s resources, delivering quiet study spaces, access to digital resources, and well-integrated technology, supporting the needs of both individual and group work.

This high-performance library design caters to different aspects of the learning environment, focusing on equity, social connections, and community resilience. The functional design segregates into three multipurpose zones – The Silent Zone, The Quiet Zone, and The Collaborative Zone. It supports both traditional and digital library requirements, including data centres, periodicals, training and innovation centres, recording studios, mini theatres, and digital interaction spaces. The library sits in harmony with existing campus buildings while remaining a distinctive academic marker. Earthy natural materials, textures, and colours blend with the surroundings, while the brick fins, aluminium louvers, and brick jali create dramatic light-and-shadow effects and reduce heat gain into the building.
